Job Description:

Hawkeye Properties and Workforce Innovation, Inc. (Hawkeye) is a non-profit organization committed to helping historically overlooked, underserved, and under-resourced populations. Since 2010, we have supported non-profit organizations and other tax-exempt charitable organizations through activities, such as providing loans at below-market rates, acquiring and managing real estate property at below-market rates, and other activities that are in support of the charitable purposes of the corporation.


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Career Coach to provide guidance and support to clients as they navigate through employment options.


Location - 3130 Inland Empire Blvd., Ste A

Ontario, CA 91764


Office Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 9:00 am - 6:00pm

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30pm

You will have 4 days in the office and one day remote each week.


Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and guide job seekers through the preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP) based on their career and educational goals.
  • Research and identify potential employers regarding job opportunities or work experience opportunities aligned with client caseload needs.
  • Utilize both internal and external job boards and interface with administrative personnel to ensure the internal job board is updated.
  • Participate in on-site job fairs and mass interviewing and/or hiring activities; participates on Job Search work teams and job clubs; may facilitate job clubs independently or with BDP.
  • Provide career coaching and case management services to clients including tracking the clients' progress in training and job search activities.
  • Outreach and collaborate with external partners to develop job leads and job orders to meet the needs of job seekers and employers.
  • Provide referral and tracking of clients into programs provided on-site at the centers, as well as maintain contact with network partners to ensure that participants are receiving appropriate services.
  • Assess jobseeker's employment and training needs and skills through interviewing, testing and other strategies.
  • Perform data entry into mandated databases as required by contract, policies and procedures, and update databases to maintain files and documentations.
  • Assists in developing, maintaining and leading viable Business Advisory Collaborative and other partnership opportunities or events.
  • Review and process required documentation for various training enrollment and completion.
  • Act as liaison for client with internal personnel or on-site agencies and external service providers, during all phases of training, placement and retention, in order to ensure consistent flow of benefits and services
  • Research, evaluate, and maintain partnerships with training providers for both vocational and remedial training
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and other group presentations that prepare job seekers for real-life business needs and expectations.
  • Follow all policies, procedures and regulations related to eligibility documentation and ensure that case files have originals and/or copies of eligibility documentation.
  • Maintain accurate individual case files for each client and meet compliance requirements with all policies and procedures.
  • Conducts regular labor market and industry needs analysis and stays current on business and hiring trends.
  • This position requires local travel extensively (> 50% of the time) a valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance required.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office including word and excel.
  • Ability to travel and to work flexible hours.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in social services, coaching, job development or related fields with an employment focus.
  • Non-profit experience preferred.
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of CalJobs and quality control process preferred.
  • Global Career Development Facilitation Certification or Workforce and Career Development Certification preferred.
