Joe Jurgielewicz & Son, LTD. has Hatchery Utility CDL Driver positions available for career-minded, independent, and reliable team members. You'll the main objective of this role is to transport and deliver ducklings to both our contract farms and company-owned farms as well transporting eggs to company hatcheries in CDL A, B and non-CDL vehicles as well as perform essential job functions within the Hatchery. . Join for great benefits, on-the-job training, and family owned.DescriptionThe main objective of this role is to transport and deliver ducklings to both our contract farms and company-owned farms as well transporting eggs to company hatcheries in CDL A, B and non-CDL vehicles as well as perform essential job functions within the Hatchery.Essential Job FunctionsThe essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Safely operate trucks while transporting goods and live birds ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations Efficiently load and unload ducklings or eggs ensuring their safety and timely delivery to farms and the hatchery while maintaining the correct temperature Assist the team in all regular Hatchery functions, egg handling/processing, egg sets, egg transfers, duckling processing and general cleanup/ sanitation in compliance with company standards Ensure incubators and hatchers are operating correctly (temperature, humidity, fans, etc.), report any issues immediately Maintain and service vehicles as needed (fuel, oil checks, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) Responsible for daily yard checks of equipment for proper conditions, fuel levels and temperatures Responsible for unloading empty duckling boxes and washing of trailer after every delivery interior and exterior Responsible for completing daily pre-and-post-trip logs when operating vehicle Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible, accurate format and properly completed with all required information Follow all biosecurity and Animal Welfare Policies Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations Report any animal welfare & Food Safety related issues to management immediately Report any damages to company vehicles, equipment, and property to hatchery manager Comply with all company policies and procedures Complete additional duties as assignedMinimum Required QualificationsThe minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Valid Class A driver?s license required Clean driving record with no legal or safety incidents on record required Required to comply with all applicable DOT Driver regulations, including passing DOT background check, drug screen and medical examination Advanced knowledge operating manual and automatic trucks Certified to operate a forklift Ability and willingness to properly wear required PPE, including but not limited to: Safety glasses, gloves, steel toe or safety footwear, hearing protection and respiratory protection (as required) Alert, focused, and detail oriented Outstanding communication skills Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others Ability to comply with all company policies and proceduresPhysical DemandsThe physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen Ability to exit equipment by stepping, climbing, kneeling Must be able to crouch and squat for pre and post trip inspections Must be able to sit and drive truck frequently and for long periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 80 pounds with assistance Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull and move as needed Must be able to use hands for simple/firm grasping Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammoniaDISCLAIMER This is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions.
