Job description

BUYER

OPPORTUNITY: Buyer

The Buyer will support the day-to-day procurement activities for a rapidly growing engineering organization developing highly engineered power generation products. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, this individual will execute purchasing activities that keep Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations moving by managing supplier communication, purchase orders, logistics coordination, and material deliveries. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers, the Buyer will provide end-to-end visibility throughout the purchasing process while helping improve procurement workflows and supporting the organization's transition toward scalable ERP and AI-enabled processes. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where organization, technical curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement are essential to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Buyer

  • Execute end-to-end purchasing activities, including requisition review, RFQs, purchase order creation, supplier communication, and order management.
  • Support the Senior Procurement Manager with supplier onboarding, sourcing activities, and procurement execution.
  • Track purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries while ensuring materials arrive on time to support engineering and production schedules.
  • Partner closely with Engineering throughout prototype builds, New Product Introduction (NPI), and evolving product designs.
  • Develop productive relationships with domestic and international suppliers while supporting supplier performance and issue resolution.
  • Maintain procurement visibility through ERP systems, reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS: Buyer

  • You bring 5+ years of progressive experience supporting purchasing, procurement, or supply chain activities within aerospace, industrial manufacturing, power generation, capital equipment, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments.
  • You have successfully managed purchase orders, supplier communications, logistics coordination, and delivery execution supporting complex engineered products.
  • You have partnered closely with Engineering throughout new product introduction (NPI), prototype development, or rapidly evolving product development programs.
  • You understand how to balance procurement priorities with technical requirements while coordinating effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and suppliers.
  • You have experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and procurement data to improve purchasing accuracy, supplier visibility, and operational efficiency.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments where you are executing procurement activities, building supplier relationships, and continuously improving purchasing processes rather than simply maintaining mature systems.

COMPENSATION: Buyer

A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus.
