AI Product Director | Bay Area Hybrid | Up to $300K Base + Significant Bonus Potential

My client is a fast-growing alternative finance business undergoing one of the most ambitious AI transformations in the SMB lending space. This is not a company experimenting with AI. They already have production-grade AI agents live in revenue-generating credit and underwriting workflows and are now expanding that capability across Sales, Customer Lifecycle, Finance, and Capital Markets.

They are looking for an AI Product Director to act as the senior product leader driving this transformation, partnering closely with executive leadership to redesign critical business processes from the ground up using AI.

The Opportunity

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner with executive leadership to define and shape the AI product vision
• Lead deep discovery with business experts to understand current workflows, edge cases, and operational realities
• Redesign processes from first principles using AI-native thinking
• Create detailed product blueprints and specifications for engineering teams and external partners
• Oversee multiple AI transformation programmes simultaneously
• Manage and develop a team of AI Product Managers
• Establish evaluation frameworks, quality controls, testing methodologies, and production-readiness standards
• Drive stakeholder adoption and change management across multiple business functions
• Measure and demonstrate business impact through productivity, efficiency, and commercial outcomes

What They're Looking For

• 8-12+ years of product management experience
• Proven track record delivering AI products from concept through production deployment
• Experience designing AI solutions, not simply managing delivery
• Strong AI fluency, including agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, benchmarking, and modern LLM architectures
• Experience translating complex business processes into product specifications and technical requirements
• Ability to manage external engineering vendors and hold delivery partners accountable
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
• Experience operating in fast-paced fintech, payments, lending, or high-growth technology environments

Ideal Background

You'll likely come from a scaling fintech, payments, lending, or technology business where you've successfully led AI-driven business transformation initiatives. You'll be equally comfortable discussing strategy in the boardroom, conducting discovery with domain experts, and reviewing solution approaches with engineering and data science teams.
