Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual and couples therapy sessions, as well as family therapy, ensuring a comprehensive approach to every patient’s needs.
• Utilizing evidence-based methodologies to address a variety of issues such as marital conflicts, grief, trauma, and blended family dynamics.
• Collaborating with other clinicians and healthcare providers to develop integrated treatment plans.
• Documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with established agency standards.
• Participating in regular team meetings to discuss cases and share insights, enhancing the overall quality of care provided.
• Offering teletherapy sessions while adapting to patients' unique needs and preferences, ensuring accessibility to mental health services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diverse populations, including both adults and children/adolescents. You will engage with clients facing a multitude of challenges, from alcohol abuse and psychological trauma to navigating complexities in familial relationships, such as blended families and parent-child conflicts. A key focus will be on facilitating healing and communication within families, ensuring that every client's unique narrative is acknowledged and addressed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Hold an active license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• Possess a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with clients and collaborating with colleagues.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with relevant experience in clinical settings, particularly those who have worked in community health environments, will be highly regarded.
