Position Overview

Hackensack Health System is seeking a compassionate and qualified Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This full-time, remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in mental health therapy while providing essential services to clients experiencing mood disorders. You will be an integral part of our Telehealth facility, offering flexible support to individuals from the comfort of their homes.

Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, empowering you to conduct therapy sessions via innovative Telehealth platforms. You'll work during standard business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate each client's unique situation, focusing on the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms. Document findings meticulously to track changes over time.
• Collaborate closely with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that align with their individual goals, preferences, and progress throughout their therapeutic journey.
• Employ evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate effective treatment for clients experiencing mood disorders.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders and related treatment options, equipping them with self-care strategies to enhance their mental health.
• Monitor progress effectively, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on data gathered from regular client interactions and assessments.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care that addresses both therapeutic and medical needs.
• Stay informed about the latest research and therapeutic methodologies in mood disorder treatment, participating in continued education and training when applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in the documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment protocols.
• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and best practice methods with peers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
• Advocate for clients, aiming to reduce the stigma around mood disorders and ensure access to necessary resources and support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve individuals experiencing a variety of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. Your role is vital in providing personalized support, assisting clients in navigating their challenges, and empowering them to improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, particularly CBT and DBT, as well as a solid understanding of psychopharmacology.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and foster strong therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with a proven track record in treating mood disorders and those who have experience using teletherapy techniques will be highly favored. Additionally, familiarity with integrated care models and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team setting is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
