SUMMARY:

Artisan Books, Workman Publishing, and Black Dog & Leventhalishiring a PublicityManager to oversee key title marketing campaigns with a focus on our award-winningfood and drink list. This is a highly collaborative role, reporting to the Director ofPublicityandMarketing, and working closely with key stakeholders across the publicity& marketingdepartment, company, and sales department.


The ideal candidate will be highlyresultsoriented, focused on bookingwiththe strongest ability to drive sales. Candidates must have5+ years priorfood & drink focusedpublicity experience, strong established relationships with key media, proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment, and poise and confidence in communicating with authors, agents, media, and in-house colleagues.


This is a NYC based roleworking3 days intheoffice(Tuesday-Thursday)and2 days from home.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create,presentand implement integrated publicity campaigns for designated lists and titles/productsfor 6-10 books per season, primarily focused on food & drink titles, as well as other adjacent lifestyle, design, and pop culture titles as needed

  • Create,implement,and measure innovative publicity campaigns to grow sales, raise author/book/product profile and brand awareness

  • Analyze the impact of publicity on sales working with sales,marketing,and editorial teams

  • Organize andaccompanyauthors to publicity events, where applicable

  • Maximize opportunities for author/contributor events and attend events asrequired

  • Deliverhigh-qualityauthor/contributor care at all times

  • Liaise closely with editorial,sales,and marketing team to ensure fully integrated campaigns

  • Deliver presentations of publicity plans at internal meetings

  • Pitch books and authors to media contacts and event organizers

  • Disseminate publicity coverage and author eventsexternally and internally

  • Maintain records and ensure databases and metadata are up to date

  • Maintain and share market and media awareness

  • Identifyand promotekey titles to specific sales channels in collaboration with the sales team, including school & library, mass retail, gift, and indie bookstores

  • Build media relationships and attend seasonal media meetings

  • Collaborate oninfluencer campaigns for your title campaigns

  • Managetitle specificbudgetsensuringappropriate allocationof resources, and suggestspendfor campaigns

The compensation range for this position is$85-$95K.Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location
