Job description

H2M's electrical engineering team offers a wide range of electrical engineering, design and consultation services. Our electrical design consultants are experts in the industry and bring a dedicated and professional expertise to the industry, partnerships, and projects. We focus on innovative engineering solutions for high-performance projects, and provide technical expertise through design, construction, and operations. Our work demonstrates how creative collaboration can produce outstanding results for our clients and our communities.
Working with architects, engineers, and environmental scientists, you will be executing electrical engineering design work for both public and private clients. You will also coordinate the efforts of both in-house and outside teams who handle power generation, distribution, low voltage, lighting, communication, fire alarm and security system design.
As a part of the H2M Team, you will have the support of our staff to help you succeed in all aspects of your work. We emphasize collaboration and community involvement and promote sustainability in our practice, ensuring that the right projects are developed with minimal impact on the environment.
H2M is actively seeking a Project Engineer in our Electrical Department to support our growth in a variety of market sectors who will be responsible for:
  • Project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications related specifically to public and commercial building types
  • Design of electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting and fire alarm
  • Project coordination with other engineering and architecture departments
  • Client relationships and responding to questions and comments
  • Construction administration including attending project meetings, reviewing contractor submittals and providing clarifications when required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
  • 5+ years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing power, distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems
  • EIT, PE preferred
  • High level of technical performance with strong work ethic
  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively with team members and clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Easy Power desired
  • Experience with IT infrastructure and network communications a plus.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications - not related to any applicant's characteristics protected by local, state or federal law. Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
