Role Description This is a full-time Journeyman Lineman role based in Cuba, MO, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some tasks to be completed from home. The Journeyman Lineman will install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include working on power poles and structures, setting and operating heavy equipment, performing switching operations, and assisting with substation maintenance and construction. The role involves reading and interpreting line drawings, troubleshooting service issues, responding to outages, and following all safety protocols and company procedures. The Journeyman Lineman will collaborate with crew members, communicate with supervisors, document work performed, and participate in regular safety and skills training.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of electricity and power distribution systems.
  • Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A license and be comfortable operating and maneuvering commercial vehicles.
  • Candidates should possess experience with heavy equipment used in line work, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related machinery.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with substation construction, maintenance, and safe operating practices.
  • Completion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman status.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, including adherence to OSHA and utility industry standards.
  • Ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and to lift and carry materials as required.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and remote work tasks.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
