We’re hiring a Laundry Lead to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary:
Responsible for proper flow of linen, uniforms and staff usage to meet daily production deadlines. 

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $16.80 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain proper flow of linen and uniforms, including assigning duties to utility staff, and maintaining linen truck/operations.
  • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
  • Maintain equipment (machinery, bins, shelves, etc.) to ensure proper working order, immediately report any malfunctions to Maintenance Department, Linen Distribution Center Manager or Assistant Lodging Director.
  • Become familiar and adept with all areas of linen distribution and Uniform Center responsibilities. Ensure that all employees meet the department standards for safe and effective use of all equipment. Report to Linen Distribution Center Manager on the behavior and/or performance of the employees assigned to them.
  • Train and coach employees on the duties of linen distribution utility and linen distribution driver.
  • Adhere to and enforce risk management procedures for lifting, loading and handling linens, use of machinery, handling of biohazard designated linens and uniforms, and use of detergents and cleansers.
  • Maintain safe body mechanics and a safe work zone while working and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment or weather appropriate attire for work in all four (4) weather seasons/conditions.
  • Control keys, vehicle and master keys.
  • Maintain sanitary environment at all times to include machinery, floors, work areas and employee areas.
  • Communicate effectively with Linen Distribution Center Manager, Rooms Department Management and Maintenance.
  • Assume duties of linen distribution utility, uniform center attendant or linen distribution driver when necessary and be able to effectively carry out duties of any working lead shift assigned.
  • Adhere to all Sustainability programs as trained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Working knowledge and foundation of linen distribution and uniform center operations.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continual bending, stooping, twisting, lifting and long periods of standing/walking.
  • Ability to push or pull linen bins loaded with 200 to 250lbs of wet or dry laundry.
  • Ability to maintain high quality of work and high energy while taking more than 15,000 – 20,000 steps per work day at an elevation of 7,000 feet.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and project the image of professionalism, friendliness and willingness to provide personalized service to our varied customer and diverse employee base.
  • Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days and comply   with Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
  • Maintain the company’s Core Values and Mission Statement in every day work and project this level of service to our guests.

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Walk.

Frequently: Stand, handle, reach, bend, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.

Occasionally: Sit, climb, crawl, squat/kneel.
