Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical and mental evaluations of patients by performing comprehensive or focused medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to assess the health status of patients.
  • Prescribe medications and therapy in accordance with established protocols, ensuring quality and safety while being cognizant of cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on managing health conditions, medication usage, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records regarding treatment plans and outcomes, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Offer expert consultation for specialized health issues, contributing to multidisciplinary approaches in managing complex cases.
  • Support patient care in settings beyond the primary outpatient clinic, which may include inpatient care and emergency services.
  • Conduct invasive procedures as delegated by supervising physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Be adaptable to the needs of our department by providing coverage as necessary beyond regular scheduled hours.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve managing a diverse patient population that may include individuals with acute and chronic cardiology-related conditions. The role emphasizes understanding the unique health challenges faced by the Columbus community, allowing for tailored interventions and improved patient care outcomes. Your ability to build rapport and trust with patients will play a significant role in their treatment journey.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current PA certification and state licensure are mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in a surgical or cardiology setting.
  • Strong competencies in critical thinking, effective communication, and patient management.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
