Job description

Reporting to the EVP, P&C Ontario & West, the Vice President, Broker Distribution is responsible for shaping and executing Gore Insurance Company's broker distribution strategy to drive profitable growth, deepen broker partnerships, and strengthen our position as a leading insurer in the broker channel.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will translate enterprise priorities into market-leading distribution strategies, influence business decisions, and drive performance across a national broker network. You will lead a team of distribution leaders while partnering closely with Underwriting, Claims, Product, Marketing, Technology, Operations, and Finance to deliver exceptional broker experiences; and sustainable business results.

 

What You'll Lead

Distribution Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute broker distribution strategies aligned to enterprise objectives.
  • Drive profitable growth, retention, and broker engagement outcomes.
  • Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish distribution priorities, segmentation strategies, and growth plans.
  • Monitor business performance and adapt strategies to achieve results.

 

Broker Relationships & Market Presence

  • Build executive-level relationships with key broker partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for strategic broker partnerships.
  • Champion Gore Mutual's value proposition in the broker market.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, associations, and leadership forums.
  • Lead resolution of complex broker relationship matters and drive long-term partnership success.

 

Portfolio Performance & Profitability

  • Set the strategic direction for broker profitability and portfolio performance.
  • Ensure alignment between distribution strategies and underwriting objectives.
  • Oversee major broker appointments, strategic agreements, and portfolio initiatives.
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to inform decision-making.
  • Foster accountability for business results across the distribution leadership team.

 

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of leaders.
  • Build organizational capability, succession pipelines, and future talent.
  • Lead transformational initiatives that enhance effectiveness and performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Broker Experience & Innovation

  • Shape Gore Mutual's broker engagement and enablement strategy.
  • Drive adoption of digital tools, products, and service capabilities.
  • Partner across the enterprise to elevate the broker experience.
  • Use broker feedback and insights to continuously improve performance and engagement.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the P&C insurance industry.
  • Proven success leading broker distribution, sales, or business development functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver enterprise growth strategies.
  • Extensive experience managing executive-level broker relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing performance, budgets, and profitability.
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders, leading change, and delivering results through others.
