Work Environment

Located in sunny San Diego, our onsite Surgical Center offers a supportive and engaging workplace. As part of our full-time team, you will work a Monday to Friday schedule, with productive hours totaling 40 hours each week, concluding at 5:00 PM. This schedule allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of San Diego while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant at Goodwill HealthCare, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough physical examinations and taking detailed patient histories to inform diagnosis and treatment.

  • Ordering, interpreting, and analyzing diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging studies to facilitate informed medical decisions.

  • Diagnosing a range of health conditions and treating chronic and infectious diseases with evidence-based practices.

  • Prescribing appropriate medications and making treatment recommendations in compliance with state regulations.

  • Documenting patient interactions and maintaining accurate health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Informing and educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive health practices.

  • Contributing to disease prevention initiatives and promoting general wellness among the patient population.

  • Participating in continuous education, research initiatives, and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population at our Surgical Center, which includes patients requiring various surgical interventions, management of chronic illnesses, and preventive care strategies. Working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals, you will ensure that all patients receive tailored and compassionate care that is responsive to their individual health needs.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, applicants must possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.

  • A valid California State Physician Assistant license and PA-C certification.

  • A DEA number to facilitate prescription management.

  • At least 2 years of practical experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical or surgical environment.

  • Strong understanding of health and patient care regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.

  • A dedication to ethical practice, teamwork, and continued professional development.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, or surgical settings. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as we value the ability to communicate with a broader patient base.

Compensation and Benefits
