This is a high-skill production role, not a back-burner job. You'll own the grill and stove at your station, cooking hot food to Gogobop standards — and every guest will taste the difference you make.
Gogobop runs four to six Cook Lines — two-three on day shift, two-three on night shift — and stations work in pairs, one leading the grill while the other supports on the stove. You'll grow your skills across every position on the line.
You'll work under the direction of the Back of House Leader, following our recipe system and printed recipe cards — built to set you up for consistent, repeatable success on every bowl.
What You'll Do
- Cook & cut every protein to standard — nailing temperature, sear, taste, texture, and presentation every time
- Follow recipes and recipe cards for marinades, sauces, and timing
- Operate various kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times
- Keep portions consistent and the hot hold running at standard
- Hold every plate to the recipe photo before it goes out — color, portion, presentation
- Catch issues early — taste-check, refire when needed, and flag anything off to your Back of House Leader
- Keep your station safe, clean, and organized from open to close
- Bring energy to the rush — communicate, cover your partner, and help set the pace for the whole kitchen
What We're Looking For
- Experience cooking on a grill or stove in a fast-paced kitchen — strongly preferred
- Comfort and confidence working around hot equipment and high temperatures
- Ability to read and execute recipes precisely, every time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet through a full shift
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- A team-first mindset — you've got your partner's back, and they've got yours
- Valid California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire — Gogobop covers the cost
