Job description

Job Summary

The Library IT department is looking for a motivated student assistant to support the library's technology, makerspace, and media production areas. You'll get hands-on experience with website management, Microsoft 365 tools, 3D printers, podcasting equipment, and more perfect for students interested in IT, media production, or digital library services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain and update the library website and digital platforms (e.g., Brightspot, Springhare CMS, LibCal).
  • Support scholarly publishing and digital object management usingDigital Commonsor similar repository software.
  • Support collaboration and scheduling using Microsoft 365 apps such as SharePoint, Teams, Lists, Bookings, and Shifts.
  • Operate and maintain makerspace equipment, including Bambu 3D printers and the Glowforge laser cutter.
  • Assist with podcast and video production using Rode microphones, Sony cameras, and studio lighting.
  • Support management of online library systems and research tools like EBSCO.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain computers, printers, and other IT hardware around the library.
  • Help track and manage technology assets, supplies, and documentation.
  • Participate in technology projects, updates, and equipment setups as needed.
