Job description

Position Summary

The Volunteer provides general assistance to assigned County departments by supporting staff with administrative, operational, and community service activities. Volunteers perform a variety of non-hazardous tasks under the direction of department leadership while gaining exposure to local government operations and contributing to the mission of Gilmer County Government.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (unless participating in an approved youth volunteer program).
  • Successfully complete any required background screening and pre-placement requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and the public.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with County staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
