Job Summary:
GigSafe is building a system of record for credentialed 1099 work, helping companies manage their independent contractors. They are seeking an Analytics Engineer to own the data stack, build data pipelines, and deliver insights that drive decisions across the business.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain data pipelines that keep our reporting clean, reliable, and scalable as we grow
• Write Python and SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data across our operator and worker platforms
• Partner with engineering to instrument new features and ensure we’re capturing the right signals from day one
• Translate data into decisions that teams actually act on, and build the data foundation that positions us to leverage AI tooling as we scale
• Define the right questions as often as you answer them – this role requires business intuition, not just technical execution
• Build the clean, reliable data layer that AI tools depend on
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3-5 years of experience
• Fluent in Python, SQL, and Jupyter notebooks – you ship analyses, not decks about analyses
• You’ve built or maintained a data pipeline before and know what breaks and why
• Obsessed with business context — you’ll learn our operators, our workers, and our economics deeply enough to know what questions are worth asking
• You get energy from enabling others — surfacing insights that empower our ops, sales, and product teams (and eventually our customers) to make better decisions
• Comfortable in ambiguity; you’ll define the problem as often as you’ll solve it
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and the ability to manage competing priorities without dropping the ball
• Clear communicator – you can translate complex data into plain language for non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working alongside AI tools – you know how to use them but know their limitations
Preferred:
• Gig/marketplace experience – you have experience working at or with gig economy, last-mile delivery or marketplace platforms
• Startup experience – you’ve worked in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment and are comfortable without a lot of structure
• Operator/customer empathy – you’ve spent time close to operations or worked with non-technical end users and understand how dispatchers, drivers, and operators actually work
