Job Summary:
Generation Auto Group is a family-owned and operated dealership group proudly serving communities for over 30 years. As a Level 2/3 IT Technician, you will support and maintain the technology infrastructure for dealerships across New York and New Jersey, ensuring reliable and efficient technology solutions for end users and dealership leadership.
Responsibilities:
โข Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
โข Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and mailbox administration
โข Support and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle management, security groups, and access controls
โข Configure and support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access Policies, and identity security initiatives
โข Assist with Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and cloud administration projects
โข Deploy, configure, maintain, and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices
โข Manage mobile devices and endpoint policies through Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
โข Support Windows Autopilot deployments and device provisioning processes
โข Perform workstation installations, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management
โข Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, operating system, and application issues
โข Troubleshoot networking issues including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, VLANs, wireless networks, and internet access
โข Support dealership network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related equipment
โข Assist with network upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure improvement projects
โข Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues
โข Support endpoint security platforms and cybersecurity best practices
โข Monitor and respond to security alerts, account issues, and identity-related incidents
โข Assist with security incident response, remediation efforts, and documentation
โข Manage user access requests, permissions, and security group administration
โข Support email security initiatives and security awareness efforts
โข Monitor and support cloud-based backup and recovery solutions
โข Assist with backup validation, restoration requests, and disaster recovery testing
โข Help maintain business continuity processes and technology recovery procedures
โข Document backup configurations and recovery processes
โข Support dealership applications, including Tekion and other dealership management systems (DMS)
โข Troubleshoot software, integration, and operational issues affecting dealership departments
โข Support technology needs for sales, service, parts, accounting, finance, and administrative teams
โข Assist with technology rollouts, software upgrades, and dealership acquisitions
โข Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues requiring advanced troubleshooting
โข Automate repetitive administrative tasks using PowerShell or similar tools
โข Assist with infrastructure projects, technology refreshes, system deployments, and migrations
โข Coordinate with dealership leadership, vendors, and internal IT staff on projects and initiatives
โข Maintain detailed documentation of systems, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technology standards
โข Travel regularly between dealership locations throughout New York and New Jersey
โข Provide onsite technical support for workstations, printers, mobile devices, networking equipment, and dealership systems
โข Support dealership acquisitions, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology deployments
โข Assist with conference room technology, executive support requests, and special events
โข Be available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work during projects, emergencies, or system rollouts
Qualifications:
Required:
โข Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
โข Have 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure experience
โข Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
โข Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and endpoint management solutions
โข Strong understanding of Windows 10/11 deployment, configuration, and support
โข Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless networking
โข Experience supporting endpoint security, MFA, Conditional Access, and identity management
โข Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and cloud-related issues independently
โข Comfortable supporting both remote and onsite users across multiple locations
โข Able to work independently with minimal supervision
โข Able to lift and move computer equipment, printers, and related technology assets up to 50 lbs
โข Willing and able to travel regularly between dealership locations
Preferred:
โข Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
โข Automotive dealership technology experience, including Tekion or other DMS platforms
โข Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
โข Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
