Serve with the Tempe Community Action Agency as a part of the HandsOn VISTA Team! To learn more ABOUT THE SITE AND THE ROLE: see 'Members Duties' below. About HandsOn Greater Phoenix: For over 30 years, HandsOn Greater Phoenix has worked with nonprofits, Title I schools, neighborhood associations and government entities to assess and meet the volunteer needs of the Greater Phoenix area. The HandsOn VISTA program supports members at multiple placement sites across the valley. Our VISTA members enable our community service partners to expand capacity and build infrastructure by creating the processes and tools needed to effectively access and utilize valuable resources. HandsOn VISTA members will improve capacity for leading communities during and beyond their terms of service by developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to volunteering, civic engagement, and other areas. In addition to the site-specific work of the individual role, all of our VISTA members: participate in 2 AmeriCorps Days of Service to observe volunteer engagement practices, gain leadership skills at 2 HandsOn community service days, attend monthly VISTA team trainings with the other HandsOn VISTA members, and partake in volunteer leadership training and monthly activities to develop a greater understanding of volunteer management and poverty alleviation strategies. Member Duties : Join Tempe Community Action Agency to serve low-income individuals & families experiencing housing/food insecurity! 1,100+ individuals in Tempe are experiencing homelessness & food insecurity compounded by rising housing costs, limited access to affordable food, & systemic barriers limiting households to achieve lasting stability. The successful applicant develops internal data systems, documentation, & reporting tools that improve service delivery and contribute to the development of a volunteer engagement system. Duties include: design digital intake/tracking tools & standardized service tracking workflows, develop reporting dashboards to monitor key metrics, survey staff & volunteers, create documentation & training materials, evaluate effectiveness to recommend improvements. The VISTA should have skills in digital literacy, clear communication skills & strong strategic thinking abilities. Bilingual &/or a knowledge of operations, logistics or human services preferred, not required.
Program Benefits : Education award upon successful completion of service , Stipend , Training , Health Coverage* , Childcare assistance if eligible , Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend , Living Allowance , Relocation Allowance .
