RESTAURANT MANAGER

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Job Type: Full-Time
Industry: Restaurant & Hospitality

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and dependable Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and bar. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong customer-service skills, excellent staff-management abilities, and a solid understanding of restaurant operations.

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, guest service, cleanliness, employee performance, inventory control, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily restaurant and bar operations.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and motivate restaurant employees.
  • Manage servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, bussers, and other team members.
  • Ensure excellent guest service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation, quality, and service standards.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards.
  • Manage employee schedules while controlling labor costs.
  • Monitor food, beverage, liquor, beer, and restaurant inventory.
  • Help reduce food waste, over-pouring, shortages, and unnecessary expenses.
  • Review sales, labor, inventory, discounts, voids, and other operational reports.
  • Ensure proper cash handling and POS procedures.
  • Coordinate restaurant promotions, special events, parties, and group reservations.
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, food-service, and alcohol-service requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and positive working environment.
  • Address employee performance or disciplinary matters when necessary.
  • Assist management in increasing restaurant sales and improving profitability.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Knowledge of restaurant, bar, and food-service operations.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to handle busy shifts and resolve problems quickly.
  • Understanding of inventory, scheduling, labor costs, and cost control.
  • Comfortable working with POS systems and basic business reports.
  • Must be dependable, organized, professional, and accountable.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.

Preferred Experience

2+ years of restaurant management or hospitality supervisory experience is preferred.

Experience managing a restaurant with food service, bar operations, events, and entertainment is a plus.

What We’re Looking For

We want a manager who takes ownership of the operation—not someone who simply supervises a shift. The successful candidate should be comfortable leading employees, interacting with guests, controlling costs, maintaining standards, and helping grow the business.
