We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent, a senior field leadership position within GTC's Superintendent career path, to oversee multiple phases of complex commercial construction projects and provide leadership to project teams, subcontractors, owners, and design professionals throughout the construction process.

Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of field operations on commercial construction projects throughout Northern Colorado and the Colorado Front Range. This position serves as GTC's primary onsite representative and is accountable for project safety, schedule, quality, subcontractor coordination, owner relations, and successful project completion.
The Superintendent leads field teams through all phases of construction while maintaining strict adherence to contract documents, project budgets, safety requirements, and company standards.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
Project Leadership amp; Planning
  • Manage all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and three-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction challenges to minimize project delays.
  • Participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and provide project updates.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain project budgets and schedules.
Quality Control
  • Ensure all work complies with contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Perform ongoing quality inspections of self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Coordinate testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage punch list and project closeout activities.
Safety amp; Compliance
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture on all projects.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct and document weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure jobsite.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and stormwater requirements.
Scheduling amp; Coordination
  • Coordinate all trade activities to achieve project milestones.
  • Manage material procurement and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain project logistics plans and site access requirements.
  • Coordinate utility providers, municipal agencies, and jurisdictional inspections.
Documentation amp; Communication
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, schedules, inspections, and project documentation.
  • Utilize project management software and digital reporting tools.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
Mentorship amp; Leadership
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and field personnel.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout project teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of commercial construction experience with a general contractor.
  • Minimum 10 years serving as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent.
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial building systems including:
    • Civil/Site Construction
    • Structural Systems
    • Architectural Finishes
    • Mechanical Systems
    • Electrical Systems
    • Plumbing Systems
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects ranging from $10 million to $50 million+.
  • Experience with fire stations, public safety facilities, municipal, educational, healthcare, industrial, or other complex commercial projects.
  • Experience working on occupied renovations and phased construction projects.
  • Ability to lead multiple project phases and large subcontractor teams.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Work Environment
This position requires frequent travel throughout Northern Colorado and the Colorado Front Range. Work is performed primarily on active construction jobsites and may require:
  • Walking uneven terrain
  • Climbing ladders and stairs
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Extended periods of standing and walking
