Role Description The Water Transfer Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining water transfer systems at job sites in and around Longview, TX. This is a contract, on-site role that involves assembling and laying hose, setting up pumps, connecting manifolds and fittings, and ensuring all equipment is properly secured and operating safely. Daily tasks include starting and stopping pumps, checking pressure and flow rates, inspecting lines for leaks, and performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed. The technician will follow site-specific safety protocols, complete required documentation, and communicate with supervisors, drivers, and other crew members to coordinate water delivery and transfer schedules. The role may require working outdoors in varying weather, standing for extended periods, and lifting or moving equipment and hose sections throughout the shift.

Qualifications

  • Experience with water transfer operations, including setting up and operating pumps, hoses, and related field equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on pumps, hoses, and fittings.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following site procedures, using personal protective equipment, and recognizing and reporting hazards.
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, bending, walking long distances, and working extended or irregular hours as needed.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, coworkers, and clients, and for completing basic logs or reports.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Longview, TX job sites; eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Prior oilfield, construction, industrial, or utility experience is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn and follow instructions is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant work experience in field operations or equipment handling.
