We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security System Technician I to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to begin a career in the security industry and develop expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various security systems. Under direct supervision, the Security System Technician I will assist senior technicians with a wide range of tasks, gaining hands-on experience and foundational knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians with the installation of security system components, including but not limited to cameras, access control devices, alarm panels, wiring, and conduit.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system placement and connectivity.
Perform basic wiring, termination, and testing of cables.
Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing simple system malfunctions.
Learn to configure and program basic security system settings under guidance.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment and checking connections.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time spent, materials used, and system configurations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
Continuously learn and stay updated on new security technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and technical school certification or relevant coursework in electronics, low-voltage systems, or a related field are a plus.
Basic understanding of electronics and electrical principles.
Familiarity with common hand and power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments (e.g., attics, crawl spaces).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (may be required for some roles).
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with network concepts.
