Project Architect – Historic Preservation

GH2 Architects, LLC, a full-service architecture and design firm with offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Denver, and Phoenix, seeks a Project Architect to join our Historic Preservation specialty practice team. This position is available at our Tulsa or Oklahoma City locations. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

GH2 maintains dedicated specialty practices in hospitality, equine, and historic preservation architecture.

GH2 Preservation Architects, a specialty practice of GH2 Architects, LLC, is dedicated to the preservation, rehabilitation, and adaptive re-use of historic and existing structures. With more than five decades of award-winning experience, our team helps clients protect the architectural cultural integrity of their buildings while adapting them to function effectively for modern needs. We support owners through every phase of the preservation process-from early field assessments to tax credit application assistance to full design and construction documentation.

GH2 team members participate in a design-oriented practice with colleagues who celebrate exceptional work, client service, and engagement with our professions and communities. They receive supplemental technical and professional education tailored to their interests and professional goals. Candidates will have the opportunity to follow projects from conception through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• All facets of professional practice, including:
  • client relations,
  • preparing project proposals
  • on-site surveys
  • written reports
  • cost estimating
  • building research
  • applying best historic preservation practices
  • preparing design development and construction documents in AutoCAD or Revit
  • preparing specifications
  • technical detailing
  • construction administration

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of preservation experience
• Strong technical detailing skills related to restoration
• Ability to survey and evaluate historic masonry, wood, windows, and roof systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide guidance on best practices in historic preservation
