Tires keep the world moving. As tires turn, goods are delivered, people are transported, and plans are executed. But what happens when they are worn out and stop turning? Worldwide, more than 7 million tires are scrapped every day. In many parts of the world, they become a waste problem, as they are left to degrade in landfill sites – or are incinerated, emitting large amounts of CO2.

At Genan, we have turned the tire waste problem into a green opportunity. We recycle end-of-life tires (ELT) for reuse in a variety of ways. Every day, we can recycle up to 150,000 tires and reduce CO2 emission to the atmosphere by 280,000 MT a year – that’s the equivalent of what 100,000 diesel cars emit in one year. Overtime at 1.5 times wage. Quarterly bonus based on meeting department goals.  Wage is skills based and increases with the skills you gain in different operational areas.

After 30 days of employment:

• Genan will provide all uniforms and the cleaning of those uniforms

At the first of the month following 30 days of employment:

• Genan provides Medical, Dental and Vision coverage paid at 100% by the company for the employee

After 90 days of employment:

• You will be eligible to participate in the Genan 401k plan, in which the company contributes up to 3%.
• Life insurance is provided at no cost to you at 1x your annual salary with a $50,000 max 
• Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability will be provided and paid 100% by Genan
• You begin earning PTO (Paid Time Off) the 1st of the month following 90 days of employment.   It is accrued on a bi-weekly basis with a total accrual of 15 days for the first year.  Pro-rated according to your start date.
• You may elect additional life insurance and Critical Injury insurance at your own expense for you and your dependents.
• Prescription Safety Glasses and protective footwear are also reimbursed at set amounts annually and necessary PPE provided by Genan

The Maintenance Mechanic supports the plant in the production of product, by performing maintenance, repair, installation, dismantle and/or removal of machinery.

Essential Functions

1. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
2. Effectively respond to equipment failures to minimize downtime
3. Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
4. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance for all equipment as needed
5. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting of production machines
6. Light electrical troubleshooting and repair to include motors, sensors, and light machine wiring
7. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service 8. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

• High school or Equivalent
• Technical training
• 3+ years of experience as Maintenance Mechanic
• Welding experience a plus
• Use of hand and power tools and measuring instruments
• Previous experience in similar field a plus
• 30 days on the job training with experienced Maintenance Mechanic
• Safety policy and procedural training
• Ongoing or annual training required by Company

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must repetitively lift and/or move items over 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must pass pulmonary fit test for proper respiratory protection.

Work Environment and Hours of Work

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

• The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
• May be required to work in confined space for short periods of time.
• This is a full-time position, rotating days including every other weekend Overtime may be required.
• On Call may be required.
• This position generally works indoors and may occasionally work outdoors. Must wear uniforms, protective clothing and safety shoes.
