If you are ready to take on a leadership role where your decisions shape day-to-day operations and drive performance, we are looking for a Production Shift Supervisor to join our Houston plant and be part of our local management team.

The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for the smooth operation of the plant during their shift.  The prime candidate for this position will be able to think on their feet, be adaptable to ever-changing situations and have the ability to make decisions quickly. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Starting wage range is $65,000-$75,000 annually plus a great benefit package;  Quarterly bonus based on meeting department goals. 

After 30 days of employment:

• Genan will provide all uniforms and the cleaning of those uniforms

At the first of the month following 30 days of employment:

• Genan provides Medical, Dental, Vision, Supplemental Life, Critical Illness, STD and LTD. 

After 90 days of employment:

• You will be eligible to participate in the Genan 401k plan, in which the company contributes up to 3%.
• Life insurance is provided at no cost to you at 1x your annual salary with a $50,000 max 
• Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability will be provided and paid 100% by Genan
• You begin earning PTO (Paid Time Off) the 1st of the month following 90 days of employment.   It is accrued on a bi-weekly basis with a total accrual of 15 days for the first year.  Pro-rated according to your start date.
• Prescription Safety Glasses and protective footwear are also reimbursed at set amounts annually and necessary PPE provided by Genan

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate 7 operators on shift and their tasks to ensure all tasks are performed to the highest standards
• Training and upgrading of skills of shift operators.
• Ensure production targets are met (KPI).
• Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program.
• Monitor equipment and processes regularly throughout the shift.
• Monitor and assist two shift mechanics in the repair and maintenance of all heavy plant machinery.
• Works with both the Plant, Production and Maintenance Managers in ensuring that all plant machinery is always mechanically and electronically sound and ensuring PMs are completed on-time.
• Participate on the Safety Committee.
• This position supervises Plant Personnel assigned to their shift
• Provide leadership, coaching and support for the associates on the shift.
• Monitor production process
• Make routine process checks
• Adjust equipment or work practices according to standard operating procedures
• Coordinate housekeeping
• Take samples and verify product quality according to test regime
• Ensure that all production related tasks are done according to valid SOP, checklist and instructions, - and reported to production manager if any deviations from the chosen program
• Prepare and deliver a complete and accurate shift handover to following shift supervisor
• Report in-depth and detailed technical description of all seen technical issues to maintenance department (photo and text), to ensure a 100% efficiently working factory at all times.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of the Genan technology, process and operation techniques
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work rotating shift schedule that includes day and night shifts (Dupont Schedule)
• Structured, systematic and responsible
• Strong leadership skills - Team leader with a proven track record
• Able to handle multiple tasks
• Strong problem solving skills
• Occupational H&S knowledge – proven track record
• Electrical basic education, basic knowledge to be able to debug any mechanical issues
• Mechanical experience and if possible educated mechanic, basic knowledge to be able to debug any mechanical issues
• Forklift truck certificate
• Fire fighter skills – education and certificate
• First aid educated
