Job description

GDWS is currently seeking a science content creator and science subject matter expert in the fields of biology and environmental science to assist with an upcoming project.


GDWS is an educational resource company focused on creating impactful resources for high school math and science courses.


About the Position:
This is a project-based science content creation position, with a focus on environmental science. The overall project is expected to span approximately one-year, with content creation needs arising at various stages throughout that time. As a subject matter expert, you will be assigned work on an as-needed basis.


This position is best suited for someone who is:

  • Comfortable with a flexible, project-based workload and interested in contributing to different aspects of resource development as needs arise.
  • A current or former teacher who is interested in taking on supplemental content creation work throughout the year.


Responsibilities:

  • Copyedit existing curriculum.
  • Create engaging and well-written case studies focusing on science-related topics.
  • Create classroom materials and review sheets aligned to NGSS standards.
  • Generate and test original laboratory ideas for various topics.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in science related field
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching high school or college level science courses
  • Strong understanding of NGSS
  • Strong attention to detail, including scientific accuracy, grammar, and formatting
  • Familiarity with reading published scientific journal articles
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines
  • A love of creating resources
  • Comfortable working on a project-based, as-needed schedule
