About the Role:

The Parts Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department within an automotive service environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of automotive parts and tires to support both the service department and retail customers. The Parts Manager ensures that the right parts are available at the right time to minimize vehicle downtime and maximize customer satisfaction. They lead and develop a team of parts counter staff, fostering a customer-focused and operationally efficient environment. Ultimately, the Parts Manager drives profitability through effective inventory control, vendor relationships, and seamless coordination with service operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a dealership or automotive service center environment.
• Familiarity with automotive maintenance procedures and service workflows.
• Certification in automotive parts management or related professional credentials.
• Proficiency with industry-specific software such as Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations of the parts department, including parts counter service and inventory control.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of automotive parts, tires, and spare parts to meet service department and customer needs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to minimize shrinkage and ensure optimal stock levels.
• Collaborate closely with the service department to forecast parts demand and support timely vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Lead, train, and motivate parts department staff to deliver exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing and ensure timely deliveries.
• Implement and monitor processes to improve parts availability, reduce costs, and enhance overall department performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to parts handling and storage.

The Parts Manager utilizes expertise in parts counter operations daily to assist customers and service technicians in locating and obtaining the correct automotive parts efficiently.
