Position Summary

The Senior Clinician is a fully licensed mental health professional who provides outpatient psychotherapy services with a high degree of clinical autonomy. In addition to direct client care, Senior Clinicians contribute to clinical leadership through consultation, mentorship, and support of Mango Tree’s values-aligned, culturally responsive practice model.

Senior Clinicians are expected to demonstrate advanced clinical judgment, strong professional ethics, and the ability to engage deeply with subjectivity, positionality, racial identity, intergenerational experiences, and cultural meaning-making, particularly in work with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) clients and communities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Advanced Clinical Care

• Provide individual psychotherapy services to assigned clients independently and within full scope of licensure
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
• Deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive interventions
• Engage complex clinical presentations, including trauma, identity-based stress, and relational concerns
• Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and professional ethics

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes
• Maintain records in compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and payer requirements
• Use appropriate CPT codes and clinical language to support medical necessity
• Support documentation quality through peer consultation and modeling best practices

Clinical Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide informal consultation and mentorship to Associate Psychotherapists
• Support clinical culture, ethical practice, and professional accountability within the practice
• Participate in case consultation groups, program development, or training initiatives
• Model reflective practice, cultural humility, and ethical decision-making

Practice Engagement & Collaboration

• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, supervisors, and administrative staff
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and practice initiatives
• Represent Mango Tree professionally in clinical, community, or partnership settings
• Support the practice’s mission, values, and community-centered approach

Productivity Expectations

• Maintain a minimum of 10 billable clinical hours per week
• Additional hours may be scheduled based on clinician availability, client demand, and program needs
• Meet attendance, scheduling, and documentation standards as outlined in practice policies

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field
• Active, unrestricted clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent)
• Eligibility to practice independently and provide clinical services without supervision
• Demonstrated experience providing outpatient psychotherapy
• Demonstrated experience, training, or clinical work with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, including attention to racial, cultural, and intergenerational subjectivity
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
