Job description

Description We are looking for a Finance Systems and Business Analyst to support financial systems, business process improvement, workflow automation, data analysis, reporting, documentation, training, and the implementation of new or enhanced financial software systems for the Finance Department and County operations. The position serves as a liaison between Finance, Information Technology, and operating departments to improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate is adaptable, curious, and comfortable learning as they go.

This role requires someone who can take ownership, make processes their own, think creatively, and adapt to changing priorities and technology. The successful candidate will be a dynamic problem-solver who enjoys learning new systems, understanding how things work, and finding practical ways to improve processes and support the organization. Work Hours: This is a full-time, in-office position scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m

to 5:00 p.m. Work hours may occasionally extend beyond the normal business day or workweek as needed to meet job responsibilities. What You'll Do: As a Finance Systems & Business Analyst, you will: Business Process Improvement Analyze and document financial and administrative processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and reduce manual work

Recommend and coordinate workflow improvements, process standardization, and automation. Financial Systems & ERP Assist with the administration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of financial software systems. Support ERP selection, implementation, upgrades, conversions, and other system projects.

Serve as a liaison between Finance, Information Technology, software vendors, and County departments. Reporting & Data Analytics Develop financial and operational reports, dashboards, and performance measures. Analyze data and trends to support decision-making and provide analytical support to Finance leadership and County management.

Documentation, Training & Support Develop and maintain policies, procedures, process maps, system documentation, and training materials. Provide training and user support for financial systems and business processes. Coordinate user acceptance testing, training, and change management activities.

Projects & Organizational Support Assist with strategic initiatives, process improvement projects, departmental studies, and other special projects. Research issues, develop recommendations, and perform related work as assigned. What We're Looking For: Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, information systems, computer science, or a closely related field, or any comparable work experience performed in a similar professional environment that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas is required: local government finance, accounting, budgeting, financial systems administration, business analysis, process improvement, or enterprise resource planning system implementation. Preferred qualifications: local government finance systems (AS400 preferred), Cognos, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, SQL, Python, workflow automation tools, process mapping software, project management methodologies.

Professional certification related to governmental finance, business analysis, project management, or information systems - such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) - is preferred.
