Position Overview

The Franciscan Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a remote capacity. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client mental health through interviews, questionnaires, and observation to establish baseline data and therapy goals.
• Design individualized therapy plans that address specific mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic services, including both individual and group therapy sessions, employing culturally responsive methods tailored to the client's needs.
• Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary to ensure effective recovery outcomes.
• Provide referrals to additional healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists or support groups when required, to facilitate comprehensive treatment.
• Maintain accurate client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings to share insights and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The diverse clientele of Franciscan Behavioral Health Center includes individuals grappling with a wide array of mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, substance abuse, and behavioral issues. The counselor will work with adults, adolescents, and families, offering tailored interventions to meet varying needs in a fair, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
• A minimum of four years of related clinical experience, demonstrating a history of successful client outcomes.
• An in-depth understanding of mental health disorders, including expertise in evidence-based therapies and cultural competence within therapeutic contexts.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications to maintain client records and treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering both individual and group therapy, with demonstrated success using culturally inclusive approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling rapport-building with clients from various backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to group dynamics.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
