Job description

Job Purpose: The Targeting Officer works onsite for a US Government client and supports that clients worldwide operations on specific issues or geographies.

Essential Functions:

  • Leverage analytical expertise to identify relationships yielding information needed to address the most critical requirements of the customer.
  • Develops all-source intelligence products supporting Counterterrorism HUMINT collection operations.
  • Using sophisticated, customer-provided tools and datasets, provides tailored research and analysis on foreign threat networks and individuals.
  • Drafts formal correspondence per government client standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • TS/SCI US Government security clearance with polygraph. Applicants without the required clearance will not be considered.
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university
  • Prior experience in supporting HUMINT operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Washington, DC area
  • Level 1: One (1) or more years of demonstrated relevant work experience
  • Level 2: Three (3) or more years of demonstrated relevant work experience
  • Level 3: Seven (7) or more years of demonstrated relevant work experience. Targeter certification or 7 years of experience as a contractor targeter.
  • Level 4: Twelve (12) or more years of demonstrated relevant work experience. Targeter certification or 12 years of experience as a contractor targeter.
  • Level 5: Twenty (20) or more years of demonstrated relevant work experience. Targeter certification.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Client targeter certification highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills in common desktop applications, government customer systems, internet, and social media use
  • Highly motivated, self-starter personality with demonstrated ability to spot new opportunities and spearhead new initiatives.
  • A friendly and collaborative attitude; ability to work well independently and in groups with minimal supervision; ability to navigate ambiguity, embrace client oversight at all levels, and balance competing demands
  • Additional, client-specific required qualifications will be discussed with appropriate candidates.
