Job Responsibilities
Francis Marion University and the Facilities Department invite applications for an Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and professionally, while interacting with faculty, staff, students, parents, and members of the community regarding facility-related issues.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Communicates with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments as needed
  • Monitors, University Motor Pool vehicles, rental vehicles, and fuel purchases
  • Reserves vehicles as needed
  • Maintains copier and other office equipment as needed
  • Compiles and evaluates data on timecards and leave slips for all Physical Plant departments
  • Maintains files in a confidential manner
  • Maintains employee uniform inventory
  • Ensures that information is collected, analyzed, and reported properly
  • Maintaining professional behavior and appearance in person and on phone
  • Maintains key control and inventory
  • May be asked to participate in collaborative initiatives that involve students, community partners, and faculty.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
FMU Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must be able to prioritize job duties.
  • Must have strong computer and general office skills.
  • Experience with various software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and desktop publishing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional writing skills for emails and memos.
  • Ellucian Colleague experience.

*Must have a valid Driver's License
