Job description

Cherry Carpet and Flooring located in Portsmouth, VA is currently seeking a Residential Carpet Installer to join its team.  Residential Carpet Installers are responsible for field management and completion of flooring projects with a focus on safety, professionalism and efficiency while ensuring high quality installation and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in stretch-in carpet installation.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Install carpet using stretch-in installation techniques.
  • Measure, cut, seam and trim carpet to specifications.
  • Prepare subfloors and install tack strips, padding, and transitions.
  • Move and replace furniture as needed during installations.
  • Inspect materials and job sites before installation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Operate and maintain installation tools and equipment.
  • Complete installations according to Company quality standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
