Job description

Our Field Superintendents are responsible for the installation of the doors, and when necessary, for the service and/or repair of doors.  The ideal candidate should have experience assembling and erecting structural steel as well as a good working knowledge of industrial electricity. This entails the following:  * Knowledge of material handling using cranes and forklifts of all types. * Experience in supervising field erection crews comprised of Ironworkers, Operating Engineers and Electricians. * Have welding experience. Mostly stick welding, but some knowledge of MIG welding is beneficial. * Be available and willing to travel to the job site. Most of our work is in the United States, however, on occasion, our work is overseas. Installation times vary from a few weeks to a few months. * Must be able to pass a full blown background investigation. This is required on some sites for security issues, particularly at large airports and military bases. * A working knowledge of industrial electricity, including control circuitry. This is necessary because our Field Superintendents get involved in the initial start up of our equipment immediately after installation. Also, we do encounter situations where we are called upon to go into the field to fix and repair electrical problems. * Must be able to read blueprints; detail drawings, general arrangement drawing and electrical schematics. * Should be experienced in dealing with customers in a professional manner. Often times, our Field Superintendents are the only face our clients see. * Must have experience in managing assets assigned to a project. We establish field budgets (both time and money budgets) at the time of the sale. It is the responsibility of our Field Superintendent to ensure that his project is in keeping with the established budgets.
