Work Location : Bridgewater, NJ
Work Schedule: PT / Mon-Thurs 8am - 2pm (6-8 hrs per day)
We're looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Sensory Technician to support the Innovation Sensory Insights team in executing sensory and consumer research activities. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food and beverage product experience and comfortable working in a lab environment that supports a high volume of testing across multiple, often complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Operations & Setup
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sensory kitchen and lab areas.
• Prepare supplies for daily tastings (e.g., food, beverages, utensils, ballots).
• Ensure all equipment and materials are ready for scheduled evaluations.
Test Execution
• Assist in the setup and execution of internal sensory panels and informal tastings.
• Support product preparation and presentation for consumer testing.
• Help coordinate logistics for both on-site and external sensory studies.
Data & Documentation
• Record and organize panelist feedback and test results.
• Collaborate with scientists and technicians to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
Compliance & Safety
• Follow health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Adhere to good laboratory practices and internal quality standards.
Qualifications
• Experience in food science, sensory evaluation, or lab operations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Prior experience working with sensory software is a plus (e.g. Eye Quesiton, Fizz, Compusense, Red Jade)
