Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida to provide high-quality outpatient psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families. First Things Counseling and Wellness is an integrative counseling practice focused on whole-person wellness and mindset transformation. We combine evidence-based therapies, holistic approaches, and a servant-leader culture to deliver compassionate, client-centered care. Key Responsibilities

· Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group psychotherapy using integrative, evidence-based treatment modalities.

· Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and establish accurate diagnoses.

· Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans.

· Maintain a consistent caseload while providing ethical, client-centered care.

· Independently schedule, confirm, and manage client appointments.

· Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including:

· Intake assessments

· Progress notes

· Treatment plans

· Discharge summaries

· Risk assessments

· Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or clinical software for documentation, scheduling, and case management.

· Monitor client progress and modify treatment interventions as clinically appropriate.

· Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Florida regulations.

· Respond appropriately to clinical crises and coordinate referrals when needed.

· Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and community resources as appropriate.

· Participate in clinical supervision, consultation, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities as needed.

· Maintain active Florida licensure and fulfill all continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

· Active Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in good standing.

· Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related behavioral health field.

· Knowledge of Florida mental health laws, HIPAA regulations, and professional ethical standards.

· Experience providing psychotherapy across diverse populations.

· Ability to work independently while maintaining high clinical standards.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with trauma-informed care.

· Familiarity with insurance documentation and medical necessity requirements.

· Experience using Jane, a plus but not required.
