Position Overview

The Senior Commercial Loan Officer plays a key role in supporting FCCU's mission of strengthening communities by helping members grow and thrive. This position builds and manages strong relationships with business members by providing expert financial guidance and offering competitive commercial lending and deposit solutions tailored to their needs. The role leads the lending process from initial interview through underwriting and closing, evaluating financial information, identifying risks, and structuring secured and unsecured commercial loans in alignment with Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements.

Beyond lending expertise, this role focuses on cultivating trust, generating new business, and contributing to FCCU's growth through proactive business development and community engagement. The Commercial Loan Officer II also maintains and monitors an active loan portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely problemloan detection. Ideal candidates are relationshipdriven, analytical, and adaptable, excelling in a fastpaced environment where service, accuracy, and professional communication are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and build relationships with business members by providing financial expertise, seeking crosssell opportunities, and supporting FCCU's sales and service focus.
  • Prospect and generate new business through networking, sales calls, presentations, and other outreach efforts to promote lending and deposit solutions.
  • Conduct interviews with current and prospective members to evaluate commercial loan requests, gather financial information, and determine appropriate loan structures.
  • Analyze financial statements, identify risks, recommend loan terms, determine collateral needs, and approve or recommend credit decisions within authority.
  • Partner with internal resources to prepare documents, close loans, and ensure accurate processing while consistently meeting sales, loan growth, and portfolio management expectations.
  • Service and monitor an active loan portfolio, ensuring compliance, timely pastdue management, and proactive problemloan identification and resolution
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, economics, agriculture, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Five years of experience within business lending
  • Thorough knowledge of financial accounting with the ability to spread and analyze financial statements, cash flows and tax returns from companies and individuals..
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and business development activities.
