We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic team at the Business Support Centre in Red Deer. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial reporting, and a commitment to accuracy. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the financial success and integrity of our organization.
Position:Â Accountant
Full-time:Â 40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.
Availability:Â Weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Prepare weekly sales reports and monthly reconciliations
- Complete and assist in period and year end procedures
- Prepare pre-numbered inventory pages one week prior to period-end for those departments counting inventory
- Prepare and send the inventory packages to the departments on the Wednesday prior to period-end
- Ensure that all numbered inventory pages that were sent out are returned
- Extend inventory pages as necessary as well as keep the FCL reconciliation up to date
- Assist location managers with finance questions
- To be familiar with and adhere to Central Alberta Co-op policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications:Â
Accounting diploma is requiredÂ
Experience in accounting is preferred
Experience in customer service is preferred
Demonstrate effective communication skills
