Hours: Intermediate 28+/hrs (Open Availability and Weekends Required)
Compensation: $17.05/hour

Position Summary
Cashiers are the "face" of the Co-op in their daily interactions with customers and are responsible for creating a positive customer experience for shoppers while at First Alternative. They are in charge of accurately ringing up customer purchases, providing excellent customer service, and informing customers about owner shares and other various programs offered by the Co-op. Being friendly, accurate, upholding policies and procedures, and being able to remain calm during somewhat stressful situations are key requirements for this position.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to learn to operate POS system, cash register, and all credit/debit card machines.
Knowledge of 10 key operation is helpful.
Basic understanding of money handling.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Previous natural foods experience preferred.
Ability to learn all federal regulations as they relate to Food Stamps, WIC, and OLCC.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Of legal age to sell alcohol (18 yrs).
Ability to provide excellent customer service and interact with a wide variety of customers.
