Own the end-to-end accounts receivable and accounts payable cycle, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, inventory fulfillment, and related account reconciliations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and vendor financial inquiries, resolving billing, invoice, and payment issues promptly and professionally.
Support the monthly close process, including assigned reconciliations and close-cycle deliverables.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the accounts receivable and accounts payable function. This is a hands-on role for an experienced accountant who is comfortable operating independently, wants full ownership of the transactions flowing through our ERP system (NetSuite), and communicates clearly and proactively with internal and external stakeholders. The right candidate is someone who takes initiative, manages competing priorities without losing sight of the details, and drives issues to resolution rather than waiting to be asked.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end accounts receivable and accounts payable cycle, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, inventory fulfillment, and related account reconciliations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and vendor financial inquiries, resolving billing, invoice, and payment issues promptly and professionally.
• Own the accuracy and integrity of transactions entered into NetSuite (or comparable ERP), ensuring records are complete, timely, and properly supported.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, and Logistics to keep orders, billing, and payments moving on schedule.
• Support payroll and commission reporting, including maintaining related tax and compliance records.
• Contribute to the monthly close process, including assigned reconciliations and close-cycle deliverables.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve or automate recurring AR/AP processes and controls.
• Manage recurring deadlines independently, escalating risks or roadblocks early and clearly.
What We're Looking For
• A self-starter who takes full ownership of their responsibilities and follows through independently.
• A clear, proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders informed and surfaces issues before they become problems.
• Someone who thrives managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A doer, not just a processor — comfortable rolling up their sleeves and driving transactions and issues to closure.
• An experienced accountant, with strong knowledge of GAAP and clean bookkeeping fundamentals.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in a combined AR/AP or full-cycle accounting role, ideally in a consumer products or distribution environment.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or a comparable ERP) required.
• Strong Excel skills, with comfort maintaining trackers, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of recurring responsibilities independently and with strong attention to detail.
What Success Looks Like
• Transactions are entered into NetSuite accurately and on time, with no backlog.
• Customer and vendor communications are consistent, professional, and timely.
• Close-cycle responsibilities are delivered on schedule with no missed reconciliations.
• Issues are surfaced and resolved proactively, with clear communication to Ownership, Finance Leadership, and cross-functional partners.
