Job description
Safety Technician
Location: Columbus, OH
Start Date: ASAP
Pay:
- $35/hour
- $125/day per diem
Schedule:
- Full-time with overtime opportunities available
Position Overview:
We are seeking Safety Technicians to support a large construction project in Columbus, OH. This is a straightforward field-based safety role focused on monitoring jobsite activities, promoting safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with established safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine walks throughout the jobsite
- Monitor personnel and subcontractors for compliance with safety requirements
- Identify and document safety violations or unsafe conditions
- Communicate safety concerns to project supervision
- Assist in maintaining a safe and productive work environment
- Support site safety initiatives and daily safety activities
Requirements:
- OSHA 30 Certification required
- Must possess at least one board-recognized safety certification, such as:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
- SMS (Safety Management Specialist)
- SMP (Safety Management Practitioner)
- Or equivalent safety certification
- Construction safety experience preferred
- Strong observation, communication, and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in an active construction environment
- Language Bilingual, English/SpanishÂ
