Requirements for Success: Specific Required Skills Are Determined by Classroom Structure:
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, including paraprofessionals, general education teachers, related service providers, and parents, to ensure the success of every student.
  • Thorough knowledge of learning standards and experience in delivering a rigorous curriculum that supports skill development across all areas of student development.
  • Proficiency in employing strategies to support language development, social skills, and adaptive behavior.
  • Skills in data analysis and the ability to modify instruction to facilitate progress in both academic and behavioral skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, to engage with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ETR/IEP information to design and implement clear, individualized daily lesson plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Broad understanding of special education practices and demonstrated teaching proficiency.
  • Knowledge and experience working with students with complex needs
  • Ability to utilize assistive technology to support learning
  • Expertise in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Proficiency in analyzing data to modify instruction and track progress
  • Completion of Safety-Care training or willingness to do so
