Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate or graduate student to join our Material Assessment and Qualification (MatAQ) research group. The successful candidate will work on the testing, characterization, and evaluation of high-entropy alloys (HEAs) for accelerator-relevant applications at Fermilab (Fermi Accelerator National Laboratory). This role offers hands-on experience in materials testing, data analysis, scientific reporting, and opportunities for a summer internship at Fermilab and possible conference participation.
Responsibilities (proper training will be provided)
  • Experimental Design & Setup: Experiment design and setup materials for mechanical property tests.
  • Data processing: Run Python-based code for testing data processing.
  • Software Development: Contribute to the development of data processing tools for sensitivity analysis and data processing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports summarizing results, methods, and progress.
  • Dissemination of Results: Support the preparation of posters and presentations, with opportunities to present findings at national conferences.
