Traveling Construction Laborer

Pay: $35 per hour

We are hiring a dependable Traveling Construction Laborer for heavy civil construction and underground utility projects. Applicants must be willing to travel to different job sites and remain out of town for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist pipe crews, equipment operators, foremen, and supervisors
• Perform hand digging, trench work, backfilling, grading, and job-site cleanup
• Install and handle pipe, fittings, structures, and construction materials
• Use hand tools, power tools, compactors, pumps, and other construction equipment
• Set up barricades, traffic-control devices, and job-site safety equipment
• Work safely in and around trenches, utilities, trucks, and heavy equipment
• Spot equipment operators and help maintain safe clearances
• Load, unload, move, and organize tools and materials
• Follow instructions from the superintendent and foreman
• Follow all company, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements
• Perform other general construction duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Heavy civil, excavation, or underground utility experience preferred
• Willingness to travel and remain out of town for assigned projects
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work
• Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment
• Ability to work long shifts, overtime, and weekends when required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work well with a crew
• Must meet all company pre-employment requirements

Work Conditions

This is an outdoor construction position. Applicants must be able to work in changing weather conditions and around dirt, dust, noise, trenches, trucks, and heavy equipment.
