JOB POSTING

At Father Joe’s Villages, healthcare is more than treatment - it’s a foundation for stability, wellness, and hope. The Village Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving individuals experiencing homelessness, provides comprehensive healthcare services including primary care, behavioral health, dental care, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Recuperative Care, and Detox services. We are committed to improving health outcomes and expanding access to high-quality healthcare through compassionate, patient-centered services that recognize the dignity and unique needs of every individual we serve.

What Success Looks Like

This is hands-on clinical and operational leadership in a fast-paced, integrated healthcare environment. Successful managers are collaborative clinical leaders who balance patient-centered care, staff development, quality improvement, workflow oversight, and regulatory readiness with professionalism and compassion. Success in this role means leading confident, engaged clinical teams that deliver safe, effective, and coordinated care while strengthening clinical systems, supporting providers, and improving outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness and other complex health needs.

The Role
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical operations, including clinic flow, staffing coordination, scheduling, workflow optimization, and clinical support services.
  • Lead, coach, and develop nursing leaders, clinical supervisors, and clinical support staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective integration of provider services, nursing, medical assistant, triage, laboratory, medication, vaccine, and related clinical operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical workflows, protocols, standing orders, and operational processes that promote safe, efficient, and consistent care delivery.
  • Monitor operational capacity, staffing needs, and workflow performance to support patient access, productivity, and service delivery goals.
  • Lead quality assurance, quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory readiness initiatives across clinical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with FQHC, federal, state, local, and organizational requirements while maintaining high standards of care quality and operational performance.
  • Partner with providers, administrative leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen integrated care delivery, clinical performance, and patient outcomes.
  • Use clinical and operational data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support organizational initiatives, regulatory reporting, accreditation readiness, and cross-functional projects that advance healthcare quality and operational excellence.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN), Nursing Leadership, Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), or a related healthcare leadership field preferred.
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive nursing or healthcare experience, including clinical operations, ambulatory care, community health, or related healthcare services.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience overseeing clinical teams, programs, workflows, or healthcare service delivery.
  • Experience leading clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, and process improvement efforts.
  • Experience supporting interdisciplinary care teams and coordinated care delivery models.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory healthcare operations, clinic workflows, staffing models, clinical support services, and coordinated care delivery.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to build accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of FQHC requirements, healthcare compliance standards, quality improvement methodologies, and patient safety practices.
  • Ability to analyze clinical and operational data, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead effective change initiatives.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build effective partnerships across clinical, administrative, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience serving medically complex, underserved, or vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, preferred.
  • Certification in healthcare quality, nursing leadership, or process improvement (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
Work Schedule

This is a full-time leadership position supporting clinical operations within the Village Health Center. While the typical schedule is Monday through Friday during standard business hours, operational needs may require occasional flexibility for organizational priorities. Work is primarily based within the Village Health Center and includes regular collaboration across clinical, administrative, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $113,152 to $141,419 annually, paid out bi-weekly. Final placement and starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, certification status, and internal equity considerations.

Father Joe’s Villages offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plan options, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Employees also have access to wellness programs and employee assistance resources to support work-life balance and overall well-being.

Why Join Father Joe’s Villages

Join an organization deeply rooted in Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Empowerment, and Dignity. Make a meaningful impact by helping improve access to high-quality healthcare for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Work alongside a collaborative, mission-driven team committed to integrated, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care. Grow your clinical leadership skills while strengthening the systems, workflows, and teams that support health, stability, and long-term well-being.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre- and post-employment requirements, which may include background checks, health screenings, license or certification verification, and other requirements relevant to the role. These checks are conducted following a conditional offer of employment.
