Location: Saint George, UT 84790. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: Graduate Degree. Salary Range: $229,800 – $344,700. Job Category: Health Care.

Summary

The Physician provides high‑quality, patient‑centered obstetric and gynecologic care as part of the Family Healthcare clinical team. This role includes outpatient OB/GYN services, prenatal care, women’s health, and collaboration with supervising physicians to ensure continuity of care. The Physician supports Family Healthcare’s mission by delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive OB/GYN and women’s health services within scope of practice, including prenatal care, postpartum care, family planning, and routine gynecologic visits.
  • Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
  • Manage outpatient clinic visits and participate in shared call responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate patient volume to meet organizational productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests in a cost‑effective and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Provide patient education with an emphasis on preventive health and wellness.
  • Refer patients to specialists when needed while ensuring continuity of care.
  • Complete documentation, charting, and billing in accordance with Family Healthcare policies and timelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Precept students or residents when appropriate and approved.

Physical Demands

Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable.This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to move or lift documents and materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephones, copiers, fax machines, and personal computers.Position requires frequent contact with fellow employees, patients and community. Position may require travel to other sites for work assignments, meetings or training.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education / Experience

Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and completion of an approved residency program. Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.

Language Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Internet Explorer; and an electronic medical record system.

Certificates and Licenses

Must possess current certification by the American Board of Family Practice or other appropriate specialty board. Must possess a current physician license to practice medicine in the State of Utah.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The physician may be asked to supervise a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
