Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Part Time - 24 hours /week

Compensation: $22 per hour Location: Damariscotta, ME & surrounding areas

As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide meaningful one-on-one support to clients in their homes and communities.

About the Role

This position provides 1:1 support to clients in their homes and local community. No overnight shifts required. You'll work with clearly defined duties, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to take additional clients and hours after hiring. 


Family First Developmental Disability Solutions does not offer 12- or 16-hour shifts, overnight or late-night shifts. Our clients' needs for staffing take place typically between the Hours of 8am and 7pm Monday through Friday. 


Proposed Schedule : Mondays- 9am to 1pm ( damariscotta ) Tuesdays- 9am to 3pm ( Boothbay Harbor)Wednesdays-8am to 4pm ((damariscotta) Thursdays-9am to 3pm ( Boothbay Harbor)Fridays- OFF ( potential for additional hours)

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Follow individualized support plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences
  • Provide domestic support: cooking, cleaning, medication assistance, appointment scheduling/attendance, shopping, transportation, and housing management
  • Support clients in accessing  social activities and community resources
  • Encourage community inclusion through events, volunteering, advocacy, and transportation
  • Ensure client health and safety at all times
  • Collaborate with supervisors, families, and care team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with State of Maine regulations using Wellsky Personal Care app
  • Uphold professionalism, respect, and client-centered care
  • Clear and consistent communication 


Qualifications

  • One year of DSP experience highly preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  •  pass criminal, drug, and background checks
  • Ability to be consistent, show up on time and demonstrate clear professional communication
  • Smartphone and internet/data required
  • Ability to maintain online records and communicate via email, text and on the phone
  • Valid Driver's License, Social Security Card, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance and state inspection
  • Willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and other required trainings
  • Willing to obtain CDC-recommended immunizations  (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Seasonal Influenza)
