Job description

Third Keyholder Job Description

Your Role:

Provides exceptional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with merchandise selection and location, and efficiently completing sales transactions. Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support store operations, including assisting the Store Manager with daily activities, maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting deliveries and replenishment, and ensuring overall store cleanliness and appearance. In absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, responsible for opening or closing store, overseeing store conditions and providing operational assistance.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. At the direction of the Store Manager, provides guidance to store team members on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures. Must be able to effectively communicate and explain these (and other) standards/procedures to team members.

2. Greets, assists and thanks customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answers questions and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.

3. Handles situations with the best interest of both the customer and Company in mind.

4. Builds average basket transaction and store sales through suggestive selling, advising customers of promotional items and linking add-on items.

5. Maintains a clean, well-stocked store for customers.

6. Maintains a positive image towards internal customers, external customers and the community.

7. Accurately handles customer funds and processes transactions using the POS system.

8. Assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery truck, organizes merchandise, and transfers merchandise from stockroom to store. Stocks shelves and recovers merchandise in the store.

9. Assists the Store Manager in asset protection prevention by maintaining a presence in the store and providing excellent customer service.

10. Assumes certain responsibilities in absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, including opening and closing duties, providing operational assistance to cashiers, maintaining record keeping and cash register deposits/receipts

11. Completes all Position Based Training timely.

12. Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.

13. All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Availability: Ability to work flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

• May be required to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height and adequate fitness level to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to read, interpret and explain to others operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc).

Experience: Prefer management experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments
