Work Environment

This position is onsite at our modern surgical facility, where a team of dedicated healthcare professionals is engaged in innovative practices and advanced medical technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with general surgeons to provide comprehensive care for patients in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.
• Perform daily rounding on surgical patients, ensuring proper assessment, examination, and implementation of treatment plans.
• Assist in the operating room (OR) by performing as a first assistant during surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures, when necessary.
• Write orders and facilitate hospital admissions and discharges, coordinating effectively with nursing and support staff.
• Deliver education and instruction to patients and families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care, enhancing their understanding and engagement in health management.
• Contribute to clinical consultation in the Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit, providing expert assessments and recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Serving a broad demographic, the Surgical Physician Assistant will engage with patients of all ages requiring surgical intervention, particularly those undergoing general surgery procedures. Our clinic emphasizes a patient-centered approach, where every team member is committed to ensuring that patients receive customized and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree required; a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies preferred.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant, with an active state licensure in Nevada.
• DEA License and American Heart Association BLS certification are mandatory.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical or hospital medicine, particularly in roles involving first assist in surgeries.
• Experience with laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques is highly valued but not strictly required.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, this role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
